Sectors of intervention Emergency
All over Europe gypsies are in a very critical situation with poor housing,
bad nutrition and bad living conditions. In the town of Band, Romania,
the situation was life threatening to a group of gypsies, in the light
of the severe winter ahead.
Emergency
Winter aid to Romania
Betania Church Center in Brande, Denmark took the initiative for an intervention.
1500 people received aid of which approx. 70% were below the age of 15 years.
The funds were spent on repairs of the homes as well as on food, clothing,
footwear, firewood, blankets, medicine etc. The local partner was NIC Mission,
a Norwegian relief organisation based in Brasov.
